RACGP AKT Advanced Strategies Course (GP202)
The RACGP AKT Advanced Strategies Course (GP202) develops advanced critical and analytical skills and methods needed for exceptional performance at the RACGP Applied Knowledge Test (AKT). This is accomplished through the use of 10 complete and representative AKT trial exams, each with worked solutions, strategies and references for further study.

About the Program
The RACGP AKT Preparation Advanced Strategies Course (GP202) allows candidates to develop and refine medical knowledge through problem-based learning, to develop exam strategy, to realise and attenuate weaknesses and to develop a higher level of understanding of the concepts required to maximise RACGP AKT scores.
This GP202 may be completed in isolation, or in conjunction with other RACGP Fellowship preparation courses in order to prepare for the Key Feature Problem (KFP) exam or Applied Knowledge Test (AKT).
Subject Structure
The RACGP AKT Preparation Advanced Strategies Course (GP202) is completed online over 15 weeks under the guidance of the academic faculty. Candidates work through each trial AKT Exam (10 in total) and undergo further study in problem-based learning format under the guidance and support of an expert academic faculty.
Subject Content
The RACGP AKT Preparation Advanced Strategies Course includes 10 full-length AKT Trial Exams (total of 1500 MCQ’s) combining a mixture of question types including:
- Single best answer
- Modified extended matching
Based on knowledge built from foundation courses such as GP201, candidates will utilise problem-based learning strategies in the domains of:
- Adult Health -Medicine
- Adult Health – Surgery
- Women’s Health
- Child Health
- Mental Health
- Population Health & Ethics
Exit Examination
The formal exit examination for this course consists of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners Applied Knowledge Test (AKT). This exam is conducted and operated independently through the RACGP. The cost of this exam is not included in the course fees for GP202.
